What type of cremations take place at Green Pastures?
We do communal and individual cremations.
'Communal
Cremation' - your pet is cremated along with other
animals and the ashes are not returned to you. Your pet's ashes
are not separated from the others.
'Individual Cremation' - your pet will be kept separate from other animals at all times during the cremation process. The ashes, will be kept separate and returned to you in the urn of your choice.
How Do I Know I'm Getting The Right Ashes Back?
Green Pastures encourages you to visit its premises if you are concerned about receiving the correct ashes, always ask where the cremation is handled and if you prefer, ask to speak with the crematory operator. You will be allowed to see the crematory if you choose. Some families choose to witness placement into the crematory.
Can I bury the ashes of my pet?
Yes you can bury them. We recommend a biodegradable box or
casket if you want the ashes to biodegrade, or stone if
you wish the ashes to remain dry so you can take them
with you if you move house.
